Cross Stitch
Cross stitching is one of my hobbies. I began when I was pretty young with help from my Mom. Once I hit high school and college I stopped having enough spare time to craft. So last year (2006), I decided to pick it up again. I am keeping an online photo album of my work, and I plan on adding some more pages to this section, such as tutorials.
About Cross Stitch
Cross stitching is a type of needlework which primarily uses little crosses of thread in an ‘x’ on the fabric to form blocks of color and create an image. Cross stitch designs can be incredibly intricate, to the point that it is almost like a painting. Cross stitching is usually done on fabrics of an evenweave, which makes tiny squares that are covered with the cross stitches. Other types of stitches are also used, such as backstitching, which is a stitch done in tiny line segments, used to outline or provide linear accents. More info to come later.
