Microsoft has recently made Virtual PC 2007 available to download for free. This version supports Vista, so if you have a Vista license, you can run it on Virtual PC without installing over your current OS. However, it looks like it will only run on XP Pro, XP Tablet PC, and Vista OSes.

I’ve been waiting for the release of the Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1, hoping it will fix a few bugs I’ve encountered. The improvements listed include:

• Performance and scale improvements in Team Foundation Server
• Team Foundation Server integration with Excel 2007 and Project 2007
• Tool support for occasionally connected devices and SQL Server Compact Edition
• Additional support for project file based Web applications
• Windows Embedded 6.0 platform and tools support
