This happens about once every couple of years in Texas, but we have a snow day today! It’s really more of an ice day… it has been raining and got cold enough to freeze over. Today we’re getting some icy rain/snow and all the businesses and schools are closed because here in Texas we can’t handle a little bit of ice. Woohoo!

South Texas just can’t function.
They’re already closing a bunch of things for tomorrow. I swear if this were happening up North, they would have no pity on us. None.
You are so right. I remember when we had a Blizzard… the Notre Dame employees were given the day off, but we still had classes. Assuming, of course, the professors showed up, and all of mine did.
I don’t mind having days off from work though.
Ugh, blizzard. Badness. I actually got stuck in the snow that time because they didn’t plow the sidewalks correctly. They never did.
I don’t miss blizzards, that’s for sure.
Hmm… there is still ice covering everything today (Wednesday), and yet my workplace is opening for employees at 11 am? The winter storm watch lasts until noon, and I doubt all the ice will be gone by then. Two people died on I-35 in Austin yesterday due to the ice (a semi lost control). I’m afraid to go out on the road.
